Trina’s Birthdays, Inc.

About Us

How It All Began

The idea for Trina’s Birthdays, Inc. came from a discussion among several friends. One of the participants, Trina Askew, disclosed that although she frequently attended birthday parties, her birthday was never celebrated. As a result of never celebrating her birthday, she often felt unwelcome, disillusioned, and rejected. Trina has dedicated her life to ensuring every child’s birthday is celebrated, regardless of family income.

Trina’s Birthdays, Inc. has worked to make unique birthday experiences for children who reside in homeless and domestic violence shelters. Our programs make children feel special, valued, and respected. Providing children with a good experience is essential to assist in reducing the adverse effects of the emotional trauma brought on by domestic violence and unstable living. Our programs not only give the kids we work with unique experiences, but they also help parents feel less stressed about disappointing their kids on their big day.

We value collaborating with other homeless shelters and groups that offer help and assistance. We are aware that ours is a collaborative effort, allowing us to assist homeless children in making it through a childhood that most of us cannot fathom.
